Designed Here in Miami
Every piece starts as a sketch in our Miami studio — the hoops, the chains, the name necklaces, all of it. Then it's made by hand, to order, in that same studio.
A name ring puts the engraving somewhere you see it all day rather than somewhere other people do. Cut to your spelling in script or block, as a band or a raised nameplate, in 18K gold vermeil at 3 microns over solid sterling silver, or gold plated. Gold, silver and rose gold, US sizes 3 to 12, from $47.
Your usual size, and measure rather than guess — a name ring can't be resized easily because the letters are the band. Sizing it up stretches the script and distorts the spelling, which is why most jewellers won't attempt it. If you're between sizes, take the larger.
Usually not, and this is the one thing to get right before ordering. On a script name ring the letters form the structure, so cutting and stretching the band deforms them. A plain band with the name engraved into the surface can be sized a little. Ask before ordering if you're unsure which style you're buying.
Index or middle most commonly. The ring finger reads as engagement whatever's on it, which is a lot of unwanted questions for a piece with your own name on it. Thumb works for wider nameplate styles.
Yours, usually. A partner's name on a ring is a considerably bigger statement than on a necklace, and it's the one people most often regret. A child's name is the exception nobody questions.
Rings take more abrasion than any other jewelry, so yes — over years, edges soften. On gold vermeil the cut goes through the plating to the silver beneath, which shows as a lighter line in the letters. Some people like that contrast. If you don't, silver avoids the issue.
A few business days before shipping, since it's cut to your spelling rather than pulled from stock. Order a week ahead of a date. Check the spelling twice — personalized pieces can't be returned for a change of mind.
