Every piece starts as a sketch in our Miami studio — the hoops, the chains, the name necklaces, all of it. Then it's made by hand, to order, in that same studio.
Initial earrings put the letter where earrings go — small, paired, and legible only up close. Single letters as studs and huggies, in 18K gold vermeil at 3 microns over solid sterling silver, or gold plated. Gold, silver and rose gold, sold as singles as well as pairs, from $39.
Either works and both are common. Matching letters read as a monogram. Two different letters — your initial and someone else's, or two children's — is the version people find more interesting, and it's why these sell as singles. Buy one of each.
Small. A letter needs to be legible up close and invisible from across a room, which is roughly 6 to 8mm. Larger than that and it stops reading as jewelry and starts reading as signage — the same rule as initial necklaces, applied more strictly because ears are smaller than collarbones.
Studs, yes — nothing hangs, nothing catches. What limits daily wear on any letter piece is the shape: letters have more edges than a plain disc, and edges are where plating thins first. Ours is 3.0 microns over solid sterling silver against an industry standard of 0.2.
Very safe — no size, no spelling beyond one character, no assumption about taste. If she already owns an initial necklace, earrings don't duplicate it. Buying two singles with different letters personalizes it further without costing more.
The letter shape is irrelevant; the metal isn't. Gold over solid sterling silver avoids the nickel that causes most reactions, and thick plating means it doesn't wear through to find it. If you react to sterling itself, you need implant-grade titanium instead.
Yes, and it's the sensible way to buy these. Second holes, cartilage, and deliberately mismatched pairs are normal. One letter, or two that don't match.
