Every piece starts as a sketch in our Miami studio — the hoops, the chains, the name necklaces, all of it. Then it's made by hand, to order, in that same studio.
Gold hoop earrings are the ones you stop deciding about. This collection runs from 8mm huggies that sit tight to the lobe up to 20mm hoops that arrive before you do — chunky croissant, endless, pavé, twisted, pearl, turquoise, emerald. Every pair is 18K gold vermeil over solid sterling silver, or gold plated, and most come as singles as well as pairs, because nobody's two ears are on the same schedule anymore.
Hoops have been in continuous fashion since roughly 2500 BC, so the question answers itself. What moves is the width — thin and seamless is the quiet default right now, chunky and croissant is the louder one. Both are in this collection because both keep selling.
If it's your first pair, buy 12mm. It reads as a hoop from across a room and still disappears under a phone. Under 10mm is a huggie — it hugs the lobe and you'll forget it's on. Past 16mm you're making a decision people will notice, which is sometimes the point. We size 8mm to 20mm, measured across the outside diameter.
Depends on the closure, and forcing the wrong one is how they bend. A hinged huggie has a small latch that clicks — press the underside, don't pull the hoop apart. An endless hoop separates by pulling the two ends gently sideways, never outward. Click-tops need a firm push at the join. If it isn't giving, you're using the wrong motion for that closure.
Usually yes. Bent hoops can be reshaped, and a broken post or hinge can be soldered by any bench jeweller. The one thing that doesn't repair well is plating that has worn through at a friction point — you can replate it, but it costs more than the earring. That's the argument for 3.0 micron vermeil over 0.5 micron plating.
Huggies, yes — the hinge sits flat and there's nothing to catch. Anything larger will find your pillow and bend. If you want a pair you genuinely never take off, buy 8mm or 10mm hinged huggies and leave the 18mm ones for waking hours.
Real gold over solid sterling silver. Ours is plated at 3.0 microns, against an industry standard of 0.2 and the 0.5 you get on most gold-plated jewelry. That thickness is the difference between a pair that survives two summers and one that goes patchy by autumn. It isn't solid 14k gold and we won't call it that — it's the honest middle.
If you're building a stack rather than buying one pair, the huggie hoop earrings are the base layer and the stud earrings fill the holes above. For something with movement, see drop earrings. Everything lives together in earrings.
