Three round natural diamonds, each held in four flat, pointed claws so that it reads as a small star, set one under the other in a short line that falls from the lobe. The top star sits on the lobe like a stud; the other two follow it straight down. 14K solid white gold, 0.64 carats in all, IGI certified — a diamond drop stud that catches the light with every turn of the head without swinging.

Are these real diamonds?
Yes - all six are natural mined diamonds, three on each earring, and the pair ships with an IGI (International Gemological Institute) certificate. There is 0.64 carat of diamond in total across the pair, graded E-F colour and SI clarity: near-colourless stones whose tiny inclusions need a loupe and some patience to find. Nothing here is lab-grown and nothing is a simulant.

How do they sit on the ear?
The post is behind the top diamond, so that first star sits on your lobe like a stud. The other two follow it straight down, joined tip to tip, so the lowest star sits just below the lobe. It is one rigid piece rather than a dangle: it does not swing, it simply draws a short vertical line of three points of light.

Are these 14K solid gold all the way through?
Yes — solid 14K gold, no plating, no base metal, nothing to wear off. 14K means 58.5% pure gold alloyed for strength, which is the standard for fine jewelry you wear daily. It is naturally hypoallergenic, it will not tarnish, and it is the one tier in our range you can hand down without a second thought. The only thing that ever needs attention is the occasional polish.

How big are they?
Small and slender. The six diamonds average a little over a tenth of a carat each - roughly the size of a peppercorn - and the earring is a narrow line of three of them, only about as wide as its flat claws. On most ears the top star sits on the lobe and the bottom one just below it. Made by hand, so each pair can vary very slightly.

How are the diamonds set?
Each round brilliant is held by four flat, polished claws shaped like small pointed ovals - top, bottom, left and right - so every setting reads as a little four-pointed star. Neighbouring stars share a claw where they meet. The open setting lets light reach each diamond from the side, which is where the sparkle comes from.

Can I shower or sleep in solid gold studs?
Showering is fine — solid 14K gold does not tarnish, has no plating to wear through and does not react to water or sweat. For sleeping, these have push-on butterfly backs rather than screw backs, so check the back is pushed firmly up to the lobe, or take them out overnight if you move about a lot. Soap film, lotion and hairspray dull any gold: soak them now and then in warm water with a drop of mild soap, rinse, and dry with a soft cloth. Pay attention to the back of the cluster, where residue collects.

Will they feel heavy or pull on my piercing?
No. Three small settings carry very little gold, and because the piece is rigid and sits close to the lobe rather than swinging from it, there is no pendulum tugging at the piercing. A push-on butterfly back holds the post snugly behind the lobe so the line stays upright.

Can I wear them every day?
That is what they are for. Solid 14K white gold does not tarnish, the claws are flat and low rather than tall spikes, so they are slow to catch on a jumper or a scarf, and there is nothing loose to lose. Give them a gentle wash in warm, mildly soapy water now and then, paying attention to the backs of the settings, where lotion and hairspray like to hide.

Are these earrings good for sensitive ears?
Yes. The part that touches your piercing is sterling silver (under 18K gold vermeil), 316L surgical steel, or solid 14K gold depending on the tier you choose — all three are nickel-safe and the same metals piercing studios use for fresh piercings. The reaction most people blame on "gold earrings" is actually nickel or brass in cheap posts, and there is none in ours. If your ears are very reactive, choose the 18K gold vermeil or solid gold option and wipe the posts with a little rubbing alcohol before the first wear.
