Is the name engraved or cut out on a name bracelet?

Engraved on the tag and ID designs, cut out on the script designs — and the product photos show which. Engraved tags are the sturdier choice for a bracelet, because a wrist takes more knocks than a neck and a solid tag has nothing to catch. Cut-out script is finer and lighter and reads as a necklace for your wrist. Both are made in 18K gold vermeil over sterling silver and both are made to order.

How many names fit on a name bracelet?

One on the single-tag and ID designs; up to four on the multiple-name-tag bracelet, one tag per person along the chain. If you are buying for a mother, the tag bracelet is the usual choice — she adds a tag when the family grows. Tell us the names in the order you want them read from the clasp.

Is this bracelet real gold?

Yes — it is 18K gold vermeil: a thick layer of real 18K gold bonded over solid 925 sterling silver. Vermeil is an FTC-defined standard, not a marketing word, and ours uses a gold layer at least five times thicker than standard plating. Under it is sterling silver, which is hypoallergenic and worth something on its own. You can also choose the Prestige Gold option (the same 18K gold over a brass core) if you want the look for less and wear it less often. Every vermeil piece is covered by our 2-year warranty.

Will a name bracelet fit a small wrist or a child?

Yes — the chain is adjustable and we can shorten it further on request. For a child or a very petite wrist, message us the wrist measurement when you order and we will make it to length rather than leaving extra chain to flap around. For an adult, measure snugly around the wrist bone and add half an inch.

Can I wear a name bracelet every day?

Yes, with the same rule as all gold vermeil: on after lotion and perfume, off before the shower, the pool and the gym. Bracelets live closer to sinks and desks than necklaces do, so the one habit that matters is taking it off to wash your hands properly rather than rinsing it fifty times a day. The clasp is a lobster clasp, which does not open on its own.

Can I shower or sleep in my gold vermeil bracelet?

Sleep in it, yes. Shower in it, no. Water, sweat, perfume and hairspray are what age gold vermeil fastest, so the rule is simple: jewelry goes on last and comes off before the shower, the pool or the gym. Put it on after lotion and perfume have dried. When it is off, keep it in the pouch it came in — the pouch is anti-tarnish, not decoration. To clean it, a soft dry cloth; never jewelry dip or anything abrasive, which strips the gold. Treated this way, vermeil keeps its colour for years, which is exactly why we can put a 2-year warranty behind it.

What kind of chain is this, and is it strong?

A paperclip chain has long, open rectangular links and is made to be seen — it is the chain as jewelry, and its links are the sturdiest on this page. A box chain has square links that lie flat and hold their shape, the strongest choice under a nameplate. A figaro alternates one long link with three short ones and was made for ID bracelets. An Italian chain is a fine, dense chain cut to lie flat and hang straight. All are solid sterling silver under the 18K gold, closed with a lobster clasp, and built for daily wear.

Will the chain tangle or kink?

Paperclip, figaro and box chains do not kink — the links are too large and too square to fold — and they tangle far less than a fine cable chain. Store it fastened, hanging or flat in its pouch, and it will stay the way it arrived. If it does knot, a drop of baby oil and two pins work it loose in a minute; never pull the ends.

How long does a personalized bracelet take to arrive?

Most personalized orders arrive within 5 to 9 business days in the US: 3 to 5 business days for us to make it, then free USPS shipping that takes 2 to 4 days. Every personalized piece is made to order in our Miami studio — your name, stone or engraving is added before the gold goes on, so it is part of the piece, not a sticker on top. You get a tracking number the moment it ships. Because it is made for you, we cannot change spelling or size after checkout, so take one more look at the personalization before you pay. We ship worldwide; international delivery is 5 to 14 business days depending on the country, and duties are the buyer's.

Will this bracelet fit my wrist?

Almost certainly — it is adjustable and sized to fit the average woman's wrist with room to spare. To check, wrap a soft tape measure (or a strip of paper) snugly around the wrist bone, note the number, and add half an inch for a comfortable fit or a full inch for a loose, sliding fit; most women land between 6.5 and 7.5 inches. If you are buying for someone with a very small or very large wrist, message us before you order and we will make it to length.
