Description

One pear-cut natural diamond, 0.72 carat, on a band that refuses to be ordinary. Instead of meeting the stone from both sides and stopping, the shank sweeps up into a soft V and passes itself underneath, so the two ends cross rather than join and the diamond sits slightly off-axis. It is a quieter, more modern way to wear a solitaire than the usual raised four-claw.

The pear is the most flattering shape on a hand: round brilliant facets drawn out to a point, worn with the point toward the fingertips so it lengthens the finger. It also shows more of itself than a round stone of the same weight — 0.72 carat reads bigger here than 0.72 carat would in a round.

IGI Certified

Every ring ships with a certificate from the International Gemological Institute, so the carat weight, colour and clarity above are independently graded rather than taken on trust. This is a natural mined diamond — not lab-grown, not cubic zirconia, not moissanite.

Made for You

Handcrafted to order in your size. Production takes up to 15 business days before your ring ships. Because each piece is made by hand, the stated weight and carat can vary by up to 10%. Made in your size, so this ring is final sale — please measure before you order.

Care

Store separately so nothing scratches the stone. Clean now and then in warm water with a drop of mild soap, brushing gently behind the diamond where lotion collects. Take it off for the pool and the gym, and have the claws checked every couple of years.

Questions, answered

Everything people ask before they buy this rings.

Is the centre stone a real diamond?

Yes — a natural mined diamond, 0.72 carat, FG colour and SI clarity, and it ships with an IGI (International Gemological Institute) certificate so none of that is taken on trust. Nothing here is cubic zirconia, moissanite or lab-grown.

Can this be an engagement ring?

That is exactly what it is built for: a single natural diamond, nothing else competing with it, on a band of solid 14K gold that is made for daily wear. The bypass shank is a quieter choice than the usual raised four-claw solitaire — the stone sits a little lower and a little off-axis, which some people prefer precisely because it does not announce itself from across a room. It works as an anniversary ring too.

Are these 14K solid gold all the way through?

Yes — solid 14K gold, no plating, no base metal, nothing to wear off. 14K means 58.5% pure gold alloyed for strength, which is the standard for fine jewelry you wear daily. It is naturally hypoallergenic, it will not tarnish, and it is the one tier in our range you can hand down without a second thought. The only thing that ever needs attention is the occasional polish.

Why a pear cut?

A pear is a teardrop: round brilliant facets at the wide end drawn out to a point. Worn with the point toward the fingertips it stretches the line of the finger, which is why it flatters most hands. It also gives more visible surface than a round stone of the same weight — 0.72 carat reads bigger here than 0.72 carat would in a round. The point is the one vulnerable spot on any pear, which is why ours is covered by a claw.

What is a bypass band?

Instead of meeting the stone from both sides and stopping, the shank sweeps up into a soft V and passes itself underneath, so the two ends cross rather than join. It cradles the stone on the diagonal and leaves no straight seam anywhere on the ring. There are no accent stones at all — the detail is in the gold, which means nothing small to lose.

Can I wear a solid gold ring in the shower and to sleep?

Yes to both. Solid 14K gold does not tarnish, has no plating to wear through and does not react to water or sweat, so this is the ring you put on and forget about. Soap film and lotion will dull any gold over time — a soak in warm water with a drop of dish soap, then a soft cloth, brings the shine back in a minute. Take it off for the gym and heavy lifting: gold is a soft metal, and a ring is the piece that takes the knocks.

How do I get the size right, and can I return it?

Each ring is made to your size after you order, so it is final sale — returns and exchanges are not accepted. Measure before you order: wrap a strip of paper round the base of the finger, mark where it meets, measure the length in millimetres and match it to a US size chart (about 52 mm is a 6, 54 mm a 7). Measure at the end of the day when your hands are at their largest, and size to the knuckle if yours is wide. If it arrives damaged or not as ordered, contact us within 7 days and we will put it right.

Can I wear it every day?

Yes, with the ordinary care any solitaire wants. Solid 14K gold does not tarnish and has no plating to wear off. Take it off for the gym, for cleaning and for the pool — chlorine is hard on the alloy — and wash it now and then in warm water with a drop of dish soap, brushing gently behind the stone, where the lotion that dulls a diamond collects. Have the claws checked every couple of years, as you would with any ring that holds one stone.

How long does this rings take to arrive?

This rings is made to order in your size, so please allow 2 to 3 weeks for us to finish it before it ships. Once it ships, free standard USPS shipping takes 2 to 4 business days in the US, and you get a tracking number by email the moment it is on its way. Because it is made for you, we cannot change the size after checkout, so take one more look at your size before you pay. It arrives in our signature gift box with a suede pouch. We ship worldwide; international delivery runs 5 to 14 business days depending on the destination, and any customs duties are the buyer's.

How do I find my ring size at home?

Wrap a thin strip of paper around the base of the finger, mark where it overlaps, measure the length in millimetres and match it to a US ring size chart: 49 mm is a size 5, 52 mm a 6, 54 mm a 7, 57 mm an 8, 59 mm a 9. Measure at the end of the day when fingers are largest, and make sure the strip slides over the knuckle. If you already own a ring that fits, measure its inside diameter instead — 16.5 mm is a 6, 17.3 mm a 7, 18.2 mm an 8. Between sizes? Go up — a slightly loose ring is wearable, a tight one is not.
