Is the centre stone a real diamond?
No — it is cubic zirconia, cut and set the way a diamond would be, with CZ accents down each shoulder. We say so plainly: what you are paying for here is the gold, which is solid 14K all the way through. CZ has the same white fire as a diamond in every light that matters, and it lets the money go into the metal that lasts.

Can this be an engagement ring?
Yes. It is built like one — a solitaire held high in prongs on an accented band — and it is solid gold, so it is made for daily wear. Plenty of couples propose with a CZ ring and choose the diamond together later, or never; the gold is the part that lasts. It works just as well as an anniversary ring, or as a promise you make to yourself.

Is it 14K solid gold all the way through?
Yes — solid 14K gold, no plating, nothing underneath, nothing to wear off. 14K means 58.5% pure gold alloyed for strength, which is the standard for fine jewelry you wear daily. It is naturally hypoallergenic, it will not tarnish, and it is the kind of piece you can hand down without a second thought. The only thing it ever needs is the occasional polish.

Why choose an oval cut?
An oval has the sparkle of a round stone with more length, so it covers more of the finger for its size and makes the hand look longer. It also has no sharp corners to catch on a sweater. Set lengthwise along the finger, it is the most flattering solitaire shape on almost every hand.

Can I return or exchange this ring?
No. This ring is final sale, so returns and exchanges are not accepted — please check your size before you order (the how-to is a few questions down). If it arrives damaged or not as ordered, contact us within 7 days of delivery and we will make it right.

Can I wear a solid gold ring in the shower and to sleep?
Yes to both. Solid 14K gold does not tarnish, has no plating to wear through and does not react to water or sweat, so this is the ring you put on and forget about. Soap film and lotion will dull any gold over time — a soak in warm water with a drop of dish soap, then a soft cloth, brings the shine back in a minute. Take it off for the gym and heavy lifting: gold is a soft metal, and a ring is the piece that takes the knocks.

Which hand and finger does it go on?
As an engagement ring, the ring finger of the left hand. As an anniversary or right-hand ring, the ring finger of the right. As a ring you bought for yourself, whichever finger it fits — nobody checks.

Will the stones go cloudy?
Not on their own. CZ does not change colour; what makes any stone look dull is the film of soap and lotion that builds up behind it. A soak in warm water with a drop of dish soap and a soft toothbrush under the setting brings the fire back. If a stone ever comes loose because of a production fault, our 2-year warranty covers it.

How long does this ring take to arrive?
This ring is made to order in your size, so please allow 2 to 3 weeks for us to finish it before it ships. Once it ships, free standard USPS shipping takes 2 to 4 business days in the US, and you get a tracking number by email the moment it is on its way. Because it is made for you, we cannot change the size after checkout, so take one more look at your size before you pay. It arrives in our signature gift box with a suede pouch. We ship worldwide; international delivery runs 5 to 14 business days depending on the destination, and any customs duties are the buyer's.

How do I find my ring size at home?
Wrap a thin strip of paper around the base of the finger, mark where it overlaps, measure the length in millimetres and match it to a US ring size chart: 49 mm is a size 5, 52 mm a 6, 54 mm a 7, 57 mm an 8, 59 mm a 9. Measure at the end of the day when fingers are largest, and make sure the strip slides over the knuckle. If you already own a ring that fits, measure its inside diameter instead — 16.5 mm is a 6, 17.3 mm a 7, 18.2 mm an 8. This ring comes in US 6 to 13. Between sizes? Go up — a slightly loose ring is wearable, a tight one is not.
