Description

Seven natural round diamonds set side by side across the top of a band of solid 14K white gold, each one held in four small square claws, so the row reads stone, block, stone, block — crisp and architectural rather than the usual row of beads. It is a half eternity ring: the diamonds run over the half of the band everyone sees, and the back half under your finger is smooth polished gold. About 0.65 carat in all, made to order in your size, and IGI certified.

IGI Certified

Every piece in this collection is graded by the International Gemological Institute and ships with its IGI certificate. The diamonds are natural mined diamonds — not lab-grown.

Made for You

This ring is handcrafted to order in your size. Please allow up to 15 business days for production before it ships. Because it is made to your size, it is final sale — and because the diamonds run across the top half of the band, a large size change later is not always possible, so please measure carefully before you order.

Care

Take it off for the gym, gardening and the pool. Wash it now and then in warm water with a drop of mild soap, brushing gently between the claws, and dry it with a soft cloth. Have the claws checked every couple of years.

Questions, answered

Everything people ask before they buy this rings.

Are these real diamonds, and how much diamond is there?

Yes — seven natural mined round brilliant diamonds, about 0.65 carat in all (roughly 0.09 carat each), G–H colour and SI clarity, and the ring ships with an IGI (International Gemological Institute) certificate. Every ring is made by hand, so the total can move a hair either way; the certificate is the final word. Nothing here is cubic zirconia, moissanite or lab-grown.

What does “half eternity” mean?

The diamonds run across the top half of the band — the half everyone sees — and the back half, under your finger, is plain polished gold. You get the unbroken line of sparkle of an eternity band on the side that faces the world, and a smooth, comfortable underside that sits flat against the ring next to it.

Are these 14K solid gold all the way through?

Yes — solid 14K gold, no plating, no base metal, nothing to wear off. 14K means 58.5% pure gold alloyed for strength, which is the standard for fine jewelry you wear daily. It is naturally hypoallergenic, it will not tarnish, and it is the one tier in our range you can hand down without a second thought. The only thing that ever needs attention is the occasional polish.

Can it be resized later?

Sometimes, but not always — so it is worth getting the size right first. Because the back half is plain gold, a jeweller can often make a small adjustment, about half a size to a size, through that plain metal. A bigger change bends the section that holds the diamonds and can loosen their claws, so it may not be possible at all without remaking the ring. That is why we make it in your size after you order, and why it is final sale.

What are the square claws?

Each diamond is held by four small square, flat-topped claws of white gold, two on each side; where two stones meet, their claws stand side by side with a hairline gap between them. It gives the row a crisp, architectural rhythm — stone, block, stone — instead of the usual row of little beads, holds every diamond at four points, and leaves the sides open so light gets into the stones.

Can I wear a solid gold ring in the shower and to sleep?

Yes to both. Solid 14K gold does not tarnish, has no plating to wear through and does not react to water or sweat, so this is the ring you put on and forget about. Soap film and lotion will dull any gold over time — a soak in warm water with a drop of dish soap, then a soft cloth, brings the shine back in a minute. Take it off for the gym and heavy lifting: gold is a soft metal, and a ring is the piece that takes the knocks.

How do I get the size right, and can I return it?

Each ring is made to your size after you order, so it is final sale — returns and exchanges are not accepted. Measure before you order: wrap a strip of paper round the base of the finger, mark where it meets, measure the length in millimetres and match it to a US size chart (about 52 mm is a 6, 54 mm a 7, 57 mm an 8). Measure at the end of the day, when fingers are largest, and make sure it would slide over the knuckle. Between sizes, choose the larger: a band with stones across the top sits a little snugger than a thin plain one. If it arrives damaged or not as ordered, contact us within 7 days and we will put it right.

Can I wear it every day, or next to an engagement ring?

Yes to both — a half eternity is the classic wedding or anniversary band, and its flat sides sit neatly beside an engagement ring or on its own. Solid 14K gold does not tarnish and has no plating to wear off. Take it off for the gym, heavy work and the pool — chlorine is hard on the alloy — and wash it now and then in warm water with a drop of dish soap, brushing gently between the claws, where lotion collects and dulls the stones. Have the claws checked every couple of years, as with any ring set with diamonds.

How long does this rings take to arrive?

This rings is made to order in your size, so please allow 2 to 3 weeks for us to finish it before it ships. Once it ships, free standard USPS shipping takes 2 to 4 business days in the US, and you get a tracking number by email the moment it is on its way. Because it is made for you, we cannot change the size after checkout, so take one more look at your size before you pay. It arrives in our signature gift box with a suede pouch. We ship worldwide; international delivery runs 5 to 14 business days depending on the destination, and any customs duties are the buyer's.

How do I find my ring size at home?

Wrap a thin strip of paper around the base of the finger, mark where it overlaps, measure the length in millimetres and match it to a US ring size chart: 49 mm is a size 5, 52 mm a 6, 54 mm a 7, 57 mm an 8, 59 mm a 9. Measure at the end of the day when fingers are largest, and make sure the strip slides over the knuckle. If you already own a ring that fits, measure its inside diameter instead — 16.5 mm is a 6, 17.3 mm a 7, 18.2 mm an 8. Between sizes? Go up — a slightly loose ring is wearable, a tight one is not.
