Description

A single round natural diamond of about 0.60 carat, raised in four claws that each finish in a flat, polished petal of white gold, on a slim, plain band of solid 14K white gold. From above it is a classic solitaire inside a small four-leaf flower of metal. Turn it to the side and there is a little heart cut right through the shoulder of the band, beside the basket that holds the stone: a quiet detail you know is there, and everyone else finds on the second look.

Is the diamond real, and is it really 0.60 carat?
Yes. It is one natural mined diamond of about 0.60 carat, G–H colour and SI clarity, and it ships with an IGI (International Gemological Institute) certificate, so you do not have to take our word for any of it. Each ring is made by hand, so the weight can move a hair either way; the certificate is the final word on your stone. Nothing here is cubic zirconia, moissanite or lab-grown.

Where is the heart?
On the side. A small heart is cut right through the white gold on one shoulder of the band, just beside the basket that holds the diamond. From above, the ring reads as a classic solitaire; tilt your hand and the little heart shows in profile. It is the detail you know is there and everyone else finds on the second look.

Are these 14K solid gold all the way through?
Yes — solid 14K gold, no plating, no base metal, nothing to wear off. 14K means 58.5% pure gold alloyed for strength, which is the standard for fine jewelry you wear daily. It is naturally hypoallergenic, it will not tarnish, and it is the one tier in our range you can hand down without a second thought. The only thing that ever needs attention is the occasional polish.

Can this be an engagement ring?
It was more or less built for it: one round diamond raised in four claws on a plain, slim band, with room beside it for a wedding ring later. The claws finish in flat polished petals rather than round beads, so from above the stone sits in a small four-leaf flower of metal. It works just as well as a promise ring, an anniversary ring or the one you buy yourself.

What do G–H colour and SI clarity mean in practice?
G–H is the near-colourless part of the scale: the diamond faces up white in daylight, and white gold keeps it looking that way. SI (slightly included) means small natural inclusions that a grader finds under 10x magnification; at the distance anyone actually looks at a ring, they are not what you see. It is where most of the sparkle per dollar sits — the budget goes into size and brightness rather than into details only a loupe can find.

Can I wear a solid gold ring in the shower and to sleep?
Yes to both. Solid 14K gold does not tarnish, has no plating to wear through and does not react to water or sweat, so this is the ring you put on and forget about. Soap film and lotion will dull any gold over time — a soak in warm water with a drop of dish soap, then a soft cloth, brings the shine back in a minute. Take it off for the gym and heavy lifting: gold is a soft metal, and a ring is the piece that takes the knocks.

How do I get the size right, and can I return it?
Each ring is made to your size after you order, so it is final sale — returns and exchanges are not accepted. Measure first: wrap a strip of paper round the base of the finger, mark where it meets, measure the length in millimetres and match it to a US size chart (about 52 mm is a 6, 54 mm a 7). Measure at the end of the day, when fingers are at their largest, and size to the knuckle if yours is wide. If it arrives damaged or not as ordered, contact us within 7 days and we will put it right.

Can I wear it every day?
Yes, with the ordinary care any raised solitaire wants. Solid 14K gold does not tarnish and has no plating to wear off. Take it off for the gym, for cleaning and for the pool — chlorine is hard on the alloy — and now and then wash it in warm water with a drop of dish soap, brushing gently under the stone and through the little heart, where lotion collects. Have the four claws checked every couple of years, as with any ring that holds one stone.

How do I find my ring size at home?
Wrap a thin strip of paper around the base of the finger, mark where it overlaps, measure the length in millimetres and match it to a US ring size chart: 49 mm is a size 5, 52 mm a 6, 54 mm a 7, 57 mm an 8, 59 mm a 9. Measure at the end of the day when fingers are largest, and make sure the strip slides over the knuckle. If you already own a ring that fits, measure its inside diameter instead — 16.5 mm is a 6, 17.3 mm a 7, 18.2 mm an 8. Between sizes? Go up — a slightly loose ring is wearable, a tight one is not.
