Description

A natural diamond halo ring with a twist on the classic: at its centre, five slim baguette diamonds laid out as a plus sign, with a tiny round diamond in each corner, set so closely that from a step away they read as one rectangular emerald-cut stone. A cut-corner halo of round brilliants frames it, and the whole head sits on three slim diamond-cut wires of solid 18K white gold, with a small seven-diamond flower on the band at each side. 0.43 carats of natural diamonds in all.

Made for You

This ring is handcrafted to order in your size. Please allow up to 15 business days for production before it ships. Because it is made to your size, it is final sale — please measure before you order.

Care

18K gold is a touch softer than lower-karat gold, so take the ring off for the gym, gardening and heavy work. Clean it now and then in warm water with a drop of mild soap and a soft brush, working gently between the wires and under the halo, and have the settings checked once a year.

Questions, answered

Everything people ask before they buy this rings.

Are the diamonds real, and how much diamond is there?

Yes — every stone is a natural mined diamond: 0.43 carats in total, VS clarity, and the ring ships with an IGI (International Gemological Institute) certificate. The workshop grades it in two lots: 0.10 ct at E–F colour and 0.33 ct at F–G colour, both VS. Each ring is made by hand, so the total can move a hair either way; the certificate is the final word. Nothing here is cubic zirconia, moissanite or lab-grown.

Is the centre one emerald-cut diamond?

No, and we would rather tell you here than have you find out with a loupe. The centre is an illusion setting: five slim baguettes laid out as a plus sign, with a tiny round diamond tucked into each of the four corners, set so closely inside a polished frame that from a step away they read as one rectangular stone. Around them runs a halo of small round brilliants. It is how a ring of under half a carat gets the outline of a much larger emerald cut — and up close, the way the pieces fit together is half the charm.

Are these 18K solid gold all the way through?

Yes — solid 18K gold, no plating, no base metal, nothing to wear off. 18K is 75% pure gold, where the 14K most fine jewellery is made from is 58.5%, so this is a step up in purity and in price. It is naturally hypoallergenic, it will not tarnish, and it is the one tier in our range you can hand down without a second thought. The one trade-off for the extra gold is that 18K is slightly softer than 14K, so it marks a little more easily. The only thing that ever needs attention is the occasional polish.

What is the band like?

Three slim wires of solid 18K white gold, side by side, each with a diamond-cut finish — rows of tiny faceted notches that catch the light as your hand moves. The wires sit slightly apart, so the band reads open and airy rather than wide and heavy, and a small flower of seven round diamonds sits on the band on each side of the halo. Underneath, the three wires join into one smooth polished plate, which is the part that rests against your palm.

How big does it look on the hand?

Refined rather than loud. Worn, the halo covers a little under half the width of the finger, and the three wires with their two small flowers fill the rest of the space across it, so the ring reads as one neat rectangle of light from one side of the finger to the other. The worn photos and the 360° video show it at true scale. Exact millimetre dimensions are not published for this piece, so we will not invent them; if you want a figure before you order, ask us and we will confirm it for you.

Can I wear a solid gold ring in the shower and to sleep?

Yes to both. Solid 18K gold does not tarnish, has no plating to wear through and does not react to water or sweat, so this is the ring you put on and forget about. Soap film and lotion will dull any gold over time — a soak in warm water with a drop of dish soap, then a soft cloth, brings the shine back in a minute. 18K is a little softer than 14K, so take it off for the gym and heavy lifting: a ring is the piece that takes the knocks.

How do I get the size right, and can I return it?

Each ring is made to your size after you order, so it is final sale — returns and exchanges are not accepted. Measure before you order: wrap a strip of paper round the base of the finger, mark where it meets, measure the length in millimetres and match it to a US size chart (about 52 mm is a 6, 54 mm a 7, 57 mm an 8). We make US sizes 5 to 12. A band made of three wires is wider than a single band and feels a little snugger, so if you fall between two sizes, choose the larger one. If it arrives damaged or not as ordered, contact us within 7 days and we will put it right.

Can I wear it every day?

Yes, with the ordinary care any diamond ring wants. The halo and the two flowers sit low and close to the finger, so they do not snag the way a tall solitaire can. Take it off for the gym, for cleaning and for the pool, and every so often soak it in warm water with a drop of dish soap and brush gently between the wires and under the halo with a soft toothbrush. With this many small stones, have the settings checked once a year — it takes a jeweller five minutes.

How long does this rings take to arrive?

This rings is made to order in your size, so please allow 2 to 3 weeks for us to finish it before it ships. Once it ships, free standard USPS shipping takes 2 to 4 business days in the US, and you get a tracking number by email the moment it is on its way. Because it is made for you, we cannot change the size after checkout, so take one more look at your size before you pay. It arrives in our signature gift box with a suede pouch. We ship worldwide; international delivery runs 5 to 14 business days depending on the destination, and any customs duties are the buyer's.

How do I find my ring size at home?

Wrap a thin strip of paper around the base of the finger, mark where it overlaps, measure the length in millimetres and match it to a US ring size chart: 49 mm is a size 5, 52 mm a 6, 54 mm a 7, 57 mm an 8, 59 mm a 9. Measure at the end of the day when fingers are largest, and make sure the strip slides over the knuckle. If you already own a ring that fits, measure its inside diameter instead — 16.5 mm is a 6, 17.3 mm a 7, 18.2 mm an 8. Between sizes? Go up — a slightly loose ring is wearable, a tight one is not.
