Description

A 1.06 ct natural diamond cocktail ring built entirely from step-cut light. At its heart, three long baguettes with a short baguette across the top and the bottom are set so closely that they read as one emerald-cut stone, with tiny round diamonds tucked into its corners and an eight-sided frame of small baguettes around it. Beyond the frame, about fourteen raised white-gold boxes of baguettes step outward at different heights, giving the ring a jagged, architectural starburst outline that catches the light from every angle. Solid 14K white gold, made to order in your size.

Questions, answered

Everything people ask before they buy this rings.

Are the diamonds real, and how much diamond is there?

Yes — every stone is a natural mined diamond: about 1.06 carats in total, E–F colour and VS2 clarity, and the ring ships with an IGI (International Gemological Institute) certificate. The workshop grades it in two lots, 0.74 ct and 0.32 ct, both E–F / VS2. Each ring is made by hand, so the total can move a hair either way; the certificate is the final word. Nothing here is cubic zirconia, moissanite or lab-grown.

Is the centre one emerald-cut diamond?

No — and we would rather say so here than have you find out with a loupe. The centre is an illusion setting: three long baguettes laid side by side, a short baguette across the top and the bottom, and tiny round diamonds tucked into the corners, set so tightly that across a room they read as a single emerald-cut stone. It is how a ring of 1.06 carats in total gets the presence of a much bigger centre, and up close the way the pieces fit together is the point.

Are these 14K solid gold all the way through?

Yes — solid 14K gold, no plating, no base metal, nothing to wear off. 14K means 58.5% pure gold alloyed for strength, which is the standard for fine jewelry you wear daily. It is naturally hypoallergenic, it will not tarnish, and it is the one tier in our range you can hand down without a second thought. The only thing that ever needs attention is the occasional polish.

How big does it look on the hand?

It is a cocktail ring, and it is meant to be noticed. Worn, the head sits just a little wider than the finger it is on and a little shorter along it, with the baguette boxes stepping out from the centre like a small skyline — the worn photos and the 360° video show it at true scale. Exact millimetre dimensions are not published for this piece, so we will not invent them; if you want a figure before you order, ask us and we will confirm it for you.

Will it catch on things, and can I wear it every day?

It sits proud of the finger, so think of it as the ring you wear out rather than the one you garden in. Every baguette is held in a bar-set box with polished rails at its ends, and knitwear and fine fabrics are what those edges find first. Take it off for the gym, cleaning, the pool and anything that needs gloves. Solid 14K gold does not tarnish; to keep the baguettes bright, soak it in warm water with a drop of dish soap and brush gently under the head with a soft toothbrush. Have the settings checked once a year — with this many stones, it is worth the five minutes.

Can I wear a solid gold ring in the shower and to sleep?

Yes to both. Solid 14K gold does not tarnish, has no plating to wear through and does not react to water or sweat, so this is the ring you put on and forget about. Soap film and lotion will dull any gold over time — a soak in warm water with a drop of dish soap, then a soft cloth, brings the shine back in a minute. Take it off for the gym and heavy lifting: gold is a soft metal, and a ring is the piece that takes the knocks.

How do I get the size right, and can I return it?

Each ring is made to your size after you order, so it is final sale — returns and exchanges are not accepted. Measure before you order: wrap a strip of paper round the base of the finger, mark where it meets, measure the length in millimetres and match it to a US size chart (about 52 mm is a 6, 54 mm a 7). Measure at the end of the day when your hands are at their largest, and size to the knuckle if yours is wide. A head this size wants a ring that sits snugly, so it is worth measuring twice. If it arrives damaged or not as ordered, contact us within 7 days and we will put it right.

What do E–F colour and VS2 clarity mean on baguettes?

E–F sits at the very top of the colour scale — colourless — so the stones look icy white against the white gold. VS2 (very slightly included) means the small natural inclusions take a trained grader and 10x magnification to find. That matters more on baguettes than on round diamonds: a step cut is a clear window of long, flat facets that hides nothing, which is exactly why a ring like this is graded VS rather than SI.

How long does this rings take to arrive?

This rings is made to order in your size, so please allow 2 to 3 weeks for us to finish it before it ships. Once it ships, free standard USPS shipping takes 2 to 4 business days in the US, and you get a tracking number by email the moment it is on its way. Because it is made for you, we cannot change the size after checkout, so take one more look at your size before you pay. It arrives in our signature gift box with a suede pouch. We ship worldwide; international delivery runs 5 to 14 business days depending on the destination, and any customs duties are the buyer's.

How do I find my ring size at home?

Wrap a thin strip of paper around the base of the finger, mark where it overlaps, measure the length in millimetres and match it to a US ring size chart: 49 mm is a size 5, 52 mm a 6, 54 mm a 7, 57 mm an 8, 59 mm a 9. Measure at the end of the day when fingers are largest, and make sure the strip slides over the knuckle. If you already own a ring that fits, measure its inside diameter instead — 16.5 mm is a 6, 17.3 mm a 7, 18.2 mm an 8. Between sizes? Go up — a slightly loose ring is wearable, a tight one is not.
