The necklace is sterling silver but online it states it’s 14karat gold.
The hook may not be coated. I have an allergy to nickel and the hook gave me a rash at the back of my neck when I started wearing it.

It’s a beautiful item!! Shipping was fast!! I had some issues with what I ordered and what I actually received, example: I ordered an 18 in Chain, and I received a 14 in Chain!! I immediately messaged the Owner, however they were already closed for the day. I’m quite sure they will respond first thing at 8 am when they open tomorrow morning!! Gold vermeil is solid 925 sterling silver covered with a thick layer of real 18K gold. Ours is 3 microns thick, about 15 times the 0.2 microns of standard gold plating, so the color lasts far longer.
Our gold-plated pieces use a brass base with 0.5 microns of gold. Some of our designs are also made in solid 14K gold.
