Description

Five marquise-cut natural sapphires lean the same way along a single line, like leaves along a branch, each one framed in its own halo of natural diamonds. The halos touch, so the row reads as one flowing ribbon of deep blue and white light, held flat from both ends by a fine chain. In solid 14K white gold, with 1.59 carats of natural stones, it brings real colour to a neckline without turning into a statement piece.

IGI Certified

Every piece in this collection is graded by the International Gemological Institute and ships with its IGI certificate. The sapphires are natural sapphires and the diamonds are natural mined diamonds — not lab-grown, not lab-created.

Made for You

This necklace is handcrafted to order in your chosen chain length. Please allow up to 15 business days for production before it ships.

Care

Store it separately from other jewellery so the chain doesn't tangle and the halos don't get knocked. Clean it with a little mild soap in warm water and a soft brush, then dry with a soft cloth. Put it on after perfume, lotion and hairspray.

Questions, answered

Everything people ask before they buy this necklace.

Are the sapphires and diamonds real?

Yes. The five marquise-cut sapphires are natural blue sapphires, 1.24 carat together, and every halo is set with natural round brilliant diamonds, 0.35 carat in total, E–F colour and SI clarity. That is 1.59 carat of natural stones, and the necklace ships with an IGI (International Gemological Institute) certificate.

Why are the sapphires set at an angle?

It is the design. Each marquise leans the same way, like leaves along a branch, so the row reads as one flowing line instead of five separate stones. The tilt also lets each diamond halo tuck against the next, and it catches the light from more directions as you move.

Is it 14K solid gold all the way through?

Yes — solid 14K gold, no plating, nothing underneath, nothing to wear off. 14K means 58.5% pure gold alloyed for strength, which is the standard for fine jewelry you wear daily. It is naturally hypoallergenic, it will not tarnish, and it is the kind of piece you can hand down without a second thought. The only thing it ever needs is the occasional polish.

How big is it?

About three centimetres across, just over an inch, and well under a centimetre tall. It sits on the upper breastbone as a slim line of colour rather than a statement piece. Each one is made by hand, so sizes vary very slightly.

Will it flip over or slide around?

No. The chain is fixed to the outer edge of the first and the last halo, so the row is held from both ends, stays face forward and stays centred. Like any necklace on a fine chain it can shift a little as you move; a light touch puts it back.

Can I shower or sleep in a solid gold necklace?

A quick shower will not hurt solid 14K gold: it does not tarnish, has no plating to wear through and does not react to water. We still suggest taking a fine chain off to sleep, because a chain can kink or knot against a pillow over time. Soap film, lotion and hairspray dull any gold, so soak it now and then in warm water with a drop of mild soap, rinse, and dry it with a soft cloth to keep the diamonds bright.

Can I wear it every day?

Yes. Solid 14K white gold does not tarnish and has no plating to wear through, and sapphire is one of the hardest gemstones there is, second only to diamond. The halo diamonds are small and claw-set, so take it off for the gym, the pool, gardening and lotions, and check the clasp now and then as you would with any fine chain.

Which chain length should I choose?

On a 16 inch chain the row sits just below the collarbones; on 18 inches it lands on the upper breastbone, which is how it is worn in the photographs and suits an open collar or a V neckline; 20 inches takes it lower, for higher necklines. 14 inches sits close to the base of the throat.

How long does this necklace take to arrive?

It is handcrafted to order, so please allow up to 15 business days for it to be made before it ships. Once it ships, free standard USPS shipping takes 2 to 4 business days in the US, and you get a tracking number by email the moment it is on its way. Made-to-order pieces cannot be changed after checkout, so take one more look at your choices before you pay. It arrives in our signature gift box with a suede pouch. We ship worldwide; international delivery runs 5 to 14 business days depending on the destination, and any customs duties are the buyer's.

What length necklace should I get?

If you are unsure, choose 18 inches — it sits just below the collarbone and works on almost everyone and with almost every neckline. 16 inches sits at the collarbone (the most popular length for dainty pendants and for layering as the top chain). 14 inches is a choker fit. 20 inches drops a few inches lower and is the right choice over a crew neck or as the bottom layer in a stack. This piece comes in 14, 16, 18 and 20 inches. If you are between lengths, go longer — a chain can always sit a little lower, and if a chain you already own comes up short, our 1, 2 and 3 inch extenders fix that in one clip.
