18K GOLD, SEALED WITH PALLADIUM
Warm. Rich. Unmistakably gold. That’s how our 18K gold finishes look on day one, and our palladium layer helps them stay that way.
WHAT IS OUR PALLADIUM PLATING?
Our gold vermeil starts with a 925 sterling silver core, and our gold-plated pieces start with a brass core. Before we apply the gold, we coat the core with palladium, a precious metal in the platinum family. This layer acts as a barrier, slowing the movement of metals from the core into the gold, where they can dull the color over time.
Then we electroplate 18K gold on top: 3.0 microns on our vermeil and 0.5 microns on our gold-plated brass. The palladium layer helps the finish retain its original 18K gold color and glow, wear after wear.
18K GOLD VERMEIL
A 925 sterling silver core, a palladium layer, and 3 microns of 18K gold. Our thicker gold finish gives the piece a rich color and the look and feel of fine jewelry. It comes with a 2-year warranty.
GOLD-PLATED BRASS
A brass core, a palladium layer, and 0.5 micron of 18K gold. It’s our more affordable option for everyday wear, with the same three-layer approach to help preserve the color and shine.
