Description

Hoop earrings in 14K solid rose gold, their front faces built like a small ladder of light: a lane of natural round brilliant diamonds in smooth gold bezels runs beside a lane of crisp baguette diamonds in slim rectangular frames, rung by rung down each hoop. Worn, they read as a neat column of round and square sparkle just below the lobe; turn your head and the open double-wire back comes into view. 0.90 carats in all, IGI certified.

Every diamond in our fine jewelry is natural. Each one was formed deep within the earth, most more than a billion years ago, long before it was cut, polished and set in gold.

Many pieces that look like ours are made with lab-grown diamonds. Ours are not. Every piece in our fine jewelry collection is graded by the International Gemological Institute (IGI) and ships with its own certificate, so you never have to take our word for it.

Because each piece is crafted by master goldsmiths in Istanbul and comes directly to you, with no distributors or retail markups in between, we can offer natural diamonds at prices you would expect to pay for lab-grown.

Are these real diamonds?
Yes - every stone is a natural mined diamond, and the pair ships with an IGI (International Gemological Institute) certificate. There is 0.90 carat of diamond in total across the pair, in two cuts: round brilliants and slim rectangular baguettes, graded F-G colour and SI clarity - near-colourless stones whose tiny inclusions need a loupe and some patience to find. Nothing here is lab-grown and nothing is a simulant.

How do they fasten?
With a straight post and a push-on butterfly back, the most familiar fitting there is. The post sits at the top of the hoop and goes through your piercing, the butterfly slides on behind the lobe, and the hoop hangs from there. No hinge to line up, no catch to fiddle with - if you can put in a stud, you can put these in.

Are these 14K solid gold all the way through?
Yes — solid 14K gold, no plating, no base metal, nothing to wear off. 14K means 58.5% pure gold alloyed for strength, which is the standard for fine jewelry you wear daily. It is naturally hypoallergenic, it will not tarnish, and it is the one tier in our range you can hand down without a second thought. The only thing that ever needs attention is the occasional polish.

How big are they?
About 2.5 cm from the piercing to the lowest point - roughly an inch - with a front face about 7 mm wide. Worn, they hang just below the lobe as a neat column of diamonds rather than swinging at the jaw. Made by hand, so each pair can vary very slightly.

What is the ladder design?
The front of each hoop is two lanes of diamonds running side by side: a row of round brilliants in round gold cups and a row of baguettes in slim rectangular frames, joined rung by rung with short polished bars. From the side of the head it reads as one tidy ladder of round and square sparkle. The back half of the hoop is two fine polished wires, so it stays light and open where nobody is looking anyway.

Can I shower or sleep in them?
Showering is fine — solid 14K gold does not tarnish, has no plating to wear through and does not react to water or sweat. These sit on a post with a push-on back, so for sleeping either check the back is pushed firmly up to the lobe or take them out overnight, since a hanging shape can catch on a pillow. Soap film, lotion and hairspray dull any gold: soak them now and then in warm water with a drop of mild soap, rinse, and dry with a soft cloth.

Will the stones catch on hair or knitwear?
Far less than claw-set stones would. Every diamond sits in a bezel - a smooth rim of gold that wraps the stone all the way round - so there are no prongs to snag a jumper or a lock of hair, and the corners of the baguettes are protected rather than exposed. It is the setting you choose when you intend to actually wear the thing.

Can I wear them every day?
Yes. Solid 14K rose gold takes its warm colour from the copper in the alloy, not from a coating, so there is no plating to wear through and it does not tarnish. Take them out to sleep - a hoop can catch on a pillow - and give them a gentle wash in warm, mildly soapy water now and then, with a soft brush between the rungs where lotion and hairspray like to settle.

How long does this earring take to arrive?

Are these earrings good for sensitive ears?
Yes. The part that touches your piercing is sterling silver (under 18K gold vermeil), 316L surgical steel, or solid 14K gold depending on the tier you choose — all three are nickel-safe and the same metals piercing studios use for fresh piercings. The reaction most people blame on "gold earrings" is actually nickel or brass in cheap posts, and there is none in ours. If your ears are very reactive, choose the 18K gold vermeil or solid gold option and wipe the posts with a little rubbing alcohol before the first wear.
