Description

Three open hexagons in 14K solid rose gold, graduated from small to large and hung point to point, joined by two short bars of natural baguette diamonds. The polished gold does the geometry; the baguettes, four to a bar and set edge to edge, are the clean lines of light that hold it together. A modern drop that hangs just below the lobe and stays well above the jaw. 0.31 carats in all, IGI certified.

Are these real diamonds?
Yes - every stone is a natural mined diamond, and the pair ships with an IGI (International Gemological Institute) certificate. There is 0.31 carat of diamond in total across the pair, all baguette cut, graded F-G colour and SI clarity: near-colourless stones with tiny inclusions you would need a loupe and some patience to find. Nothing here is lab-grown and nothing is a simulant.

How do they fasten?
With a straight post and a push-on butterfly back. The post sits behind the small hexagon at the top, goes through your piercing, and the butterfly slides on behind the lobe; the rest of the earring hangs straight down from there. No hinge to line up and no catch to fiddle with - if you can put in a stud, you can put these in.

Are these 14K solid gold all the way through?
Yes — solid 14K gold, no plating, no base metal, nothing to wear off. 14K means 58.5% pure gold alloyed for strength, which is the standard for fine jewelry you wear daily. It is naturally hypoallergenic, it will not tarnish, and it is the one tier in our range you can hand down without a second thought. The only thing that ever needs attention is the occasional polish.

How long are they?
About 3.3 cm from the piercing to the lowest point - roughly an inch and a quarter - with the largest hexagon about 1 cm across. That puts the bottom hexagon a little below the lobe, well clear of the jaw: long enough to read as a proper drop, short enough for a desk. Made by hand, so each pair can vary very slightly.

What are the baguettes doing?
A baguette is a long, rectangular diamond with straight step facets, so it reads as a clean line of light rather than a sparkle. Each earring has two short rose-gold bars between the hexagons, and each bar holds four baguettes set edge to edge in a channel - eight per earring, sixteen across the pair. The plain polished hexagons do the geometry; the baguettes are the bright lines that join it up.

Can I shower or sleep in them?
Showering is fine — solid 14K gold does not tarnish, has no plating to wear through and does not react to water or sweat. These sit on a post with a push-on back, so for sleeping either check the back is pushed firmly up to the lobe or take them out overnight, since a hanging shape can catch on a pillow. Soap film, lotion and hairspray dull any gold: soak them now and then in warm water with a drop of mild soap, rinse, and dry with a soft cloth.

Will they feel heavy?
Less than they look. The hexagons are open frames rather than solid plates, so most of the outline is air, and the whole drop is only about the length of a standard paperclip. The butterfly back sits flat behind the lobe and keeps the post steady, so they hang from a normal piercing without dragging it down.

Can I wear them every day?
Yes. Solid 14K rose gold takes its warm colour from the copper in the alloy, not from a coating, so there is no plating to wear through and it does not tarnish. Take them out to sleep - a drop can catch on a pillow - and now and then give them a gentle wash in warm, mildly soapy water with a soft brush along the baguette bars, where lotion and hairspray like to settle.

Are these earrings good for sensitive ears?
Yes. The part that touches your piercing is sterling silver (under 18K gold vermeil), 316L surgical steel, or solid 14K gold depending on the tier you choose — all three are nickel-safe and the same metals piercing studios use for fresh piercings. The reaction most people blame on "gold earrings" is actually nickel or brass in cheap posts, and there is none in ours. If your ears are very reactive, choose the 18K gold vermeil or solid gold option and wipe the posts with a little rubbing alcohol before the first wear.
