A Y-necklace with a little architecture to it. This natural diamond lariat threads a fine 14K rose-gold chain through a small white-gold barrel set with a band of upright baguettes between two rows of round brilliants, then lets both ends fall as slim tails, each finished with a diamond-set white-gold ball. 0.51 carat of natural diamonds in all, in solid 14K rose and white gold.

Every diamond in our fine jewelry is natural. Each one was formed deep within the earth, most more than a billion years ago, long before it was cut, polished and set in gold.

Many pieces that look like ours are made with lab-grown diamonds. Ours are not. Every piece in our fine jewelry collection is graded by the International Gemological Institute (IGI) and ships with its own certificate, so you never have to take our word for it.

Because each piece is crafted by master goldsmiths in Istanbul and comes directly to you, with no distributors or retail markups in between, we can offer natural diamonds at prices you would expect to pay for lab-grown.

Are these real diamonds?
Yes. Every stone is a natural mined diamond, baguettes and round brilliants together, 0.51 carat in total, F–G colour and SI clarity, and the necklace ships with an IGI (International Gemological Institute) certificate. Natural, not lab-grown, and the certificate puts that in writing.

How big is the diamond barrel?
Small and neat: roughly 9 to 10 millimetres across, about the size of a pea. A band of upright baguettes runs round the middle, with a row of round brilliants above and below it. It reads as a bright point at the centre of the chest rather than a statement. Each one is made by hand, so it can vary very slightly.

Is it 14K solid gold all the way through?
Yes — solid 14K gold, no plating, nothing underneath, nothing to wear off. 14K means 58.5% pure gold alloyed for strength, which is the standard for fine jewelry you wear daily. It is naturally hypoallergenic, it will not tarnish, and it is the kind of piece you can hand down without a second thought. The only thing it ever needs is the occasional polish.

How does a lariat sit?
Like a Y. The chain goes round your neck and both strands pass down through the barrel, then fall as two fine tails, each finished with a small white-gold ball set with diamonds. The tails draw a long, slim line down the front, which is why a lariat looks so good over a high neckline as well as on bare skin.

Why two colours of gold?
The chain and the tails are 14K rose gold; the barrel and the two little drops are 14K white gold. The white gold keeps the diamonds looking icy and bright, and the rose chain warms the whole thing up against the skin. Both are solid gold, not plating.

Can I shower or sleep in a solid gold necklace?
A quick shower will not hurt solid 14K gold: it does not tarnish, has no plating to wear through and does not react to water. We still suggest taking a fine chain off to sleep, because a chain can kink or knot against a pillow over time. Soap film, lotion and hairspray dull any gold, so soak it now and then in warm water with a drop of mild soap, rinse, and dry it with a soft cloth to keep the diamonds bright.

Can I wear it every day?
Yes. Solid 14K gold does not tarnish, and the diamonds are channel- and claw-set, not glued. Take it off for the gym, the pool and sleep, and store it lying flat so the two fine tails do not tangle with each other.

Which chain length should I choose?
Choose it as you would any necklace: the length is the chain that goes round your neck, and the barrel and tails fall below it. 16 or 18 inches suits most people; 20 inches sits lower and drapes well over a high neckline or a jacket. Between two lengths, go longer.

How long does this necklace take to arrive?

What length necklace should I get?
If you are unsure, choose 18 inches — it sits just below the collarbone and works on almost everyone and with almost every neckline. 16 inches sits at the collarbone (the most popular length for dainty pendants and for layering as the top chain). 14 inches is a choker fit. 20 inches drops a few inches lower and is the right choice over a crew neck or as the bottom layer in a stack. This piece comes in 14, 16, 18 and 20 inches. If you are between lengths, go longer — a chain can always sit a little lower, and if a chain you already own comes up short, our 1, 2 and 3 inch extenders fix that in one clip.
