Ordered the 10m, just as I was hoping for! There wasn’t an image showing the size relative to anything in particular but I think I would have been happy with any size. The gold is very rich but not overly shiny in a cheap way. They are clearly high quality with a very secure closure mechanism. Love!

Was very excited to receive these earrings, was just what I was looking for but they have started to (what I’m presuming is) tarnish after a few wears within the fortnight I have had them which is disappointing. They also have a very strong metallic smell. I’m unsure the quality is as I expected. I have photographed next to another pair of rose gold earrings I have had for years that have not done this to show a comparison.

These earrings aren't very shiny. I would recommend them if you want dull gold earrings. I have a feeling they are going to tarnish soon. Otherwise, i like the clicker style. I got the 12mm seems like a good size.

UPDATE to my original review: seller reached out and offered to refund and let me keep earrings. It appeared to be a mistake which can happen but he cleared things up right away which I appreciate.
The earrings that were shipped to me were different from the ones I ordered. I was planning to use these earrings for an event this weekend but now I have to go and find something else to replace them.

I’ve purchased two items from this shop. I want to share that a previous order advertised as solid gold ($350) wore down to reveal silver metal underneath after 2 years of normal wear, meaning it was certainly plated ($35 version).
When I reached out, the seller denied the earrings were from their shop, even though they were the replacement they sent when the original was lost in the mail (I have no other earrings in this style).
My most recent pair that is gold vermeil also arrived with a broken mechanism, and I haven’t received a response about an exchange. Just sharing my experience as a returning customer.

What are huggie earrings?
Small hoops that hug the earlobe — usually 8 to 14 millimetres across — with a hinge at the back that clicks shut, so there is no butterfly back to lose and no gap for a pillow to catch. They are the hoop you never take out: small enough to sleep in and sit under headphones, substantial enough to read as jewelry. Bigger hoops are an outfit; huggies are a habit.
How do I open and close hinged huggie hoops?
Hold the hoop by the sides, find the tiny notch at the back opposite the post, and swing the post away from the hoop — it hinges open like a door, about 45 degrees, without force. Thread the post through the piercing, then swing it back until you feel the click. Do not pull the two halves apart as if they were a key ring; the hinge is on one side only. If it feels stiff the first few times, that is the clasp being new, not wrong — it loosens to a clean click within a week.
What is this earring made of?
316L surgical stainless steel with 18K gold plating — the same steel used for medical implants, which is why it is hypoallergenic and why it does not rust, pit or turn your skin green. This is our everyday tier: built for people who live in their jewelry and never want to take it off for the gym, the shower or the sea. It is not the tier we recommend for heirloom personalization — that is 18K gold vermeil — but for a piece you will actually wear every single day, it is hard to beat.
Can I sleep in huggie hoops?
Yes. A huggie sits flat against the lobe with a closed hinge, so there is nothing to snag a pillow and nothing to fall out — most women who own one pair never take them off. The only caution is material: sleep in 18K gold vermeil, stainless steel or solid gold (all hypoallergenic, all on this page); the hoops that cause sore ears overnight are the cheap brass ones.
What size hoop earrings should I get?
8–12 mm is a huggie (tight to the lobe, for sleeping and daily wear); 15–25 mm is a small hoop (the everyday size that reads from across a table); 30–40 mm is a medium hoop (the outfit size, stops above the jaw); 50 mm and up is a statement. If you have never worn hoops, start at 15–20 mm. If you are buying for a second piercing, go one size smaller than the first. The millimetre measurement on every product page is the outside diameter.
Is this stainless steel earring waterproof?
Yes — fully. Shower in it, swim in it, sweat in it, sleep in it. 316L surgical steel does not rust and the gold plating is bonded to a base that will not corrode underneath it, which is the failure point for cheap plated jewelry. If it ever looks dull, warm water, a drop of mild soap and a soft cloth bring it back. The only thing we still recommend taking off for is a chlorinated hot tub, and that is more about the chlorine than the steel.
Are these hoops hypoallergenic — why do some hoops hurt my ears?
Yes. The metal touching your piercing is sterling silver under the 18K gold vermeil, 316L surgical stainless steel, or solid 14K gold depending on the tier — the same metals piercing studios use, none containing nickel. Hoops that hurt, itch or turn the lobe red are almost always brass or nickel alloy under a thin plating; once the plating wears, the skin is touching the alloy. If your ears react to everything, choose vermeil (silver base) or solid gold.
Can I wear these hoops in a second piercing or cartilage?
Lobe piercings, yes, all of them. For a second or third lobe hole choose a huggie or a small hoop one size down from your first. For cartilage (helix), a hinged huggie in the smallest size works on a fully healed piercing — the hinge closes in a circle, which suits the curve of the ear — but the post is the standard lobe gauge, so do not use one in a fresh or tight cartilage piercing. Our flat-back studs are the safer choice there.

Are these earrings good for sensitive ears?
Yes. The part that touches your piercing is sterling silver (under 18K gold vermeil), 316L surgical steel, or solid 14K gold depending on the tier you choose — all three are nickel-safe and the same metals piercing studios use for fresh piercings. The reaction most people blame on "gold earrings" is actually nickel or brass in cheap posts, and there is none in ours. If your ears are very reactive, choose the 18K gold vermeil or solid gold option and wipe the posts with a little rubbing alcohol before the first wear.
