Description

A chandelier drop of natural diamonds in solid 14K white gold. A small lotus of round diamonds sits on the chain, and from it hangs a bell-shaped drop: a pear diamond pointing up, a triangle of round brilliants in pointed white-gold frames, and three pear diamonds fanned across the bottom. About 3 cm long and slim, it moves a little as you do — enough presence for an evening, light enough for a long day.

Every diamond in our fine jewelry is natural. Each one was formed deep within the earth, most more than a billion years ago, long before it was cut, polished and set in gold.

Many pieces that look like ours are made with lab-grown diamonds. Ours are not. Every piece in our fine jewelry collection is graded by the International Gemological Institute (IGI) and ships with its own certificate, so you never have to take our word for it.

Because each piece is crafted by master goldsmiths in Istanbul and comes directly to you, with no distributors or retail markups in between, we can offer natural diamonds at prices you would expect to pay for lab-grown.

Are these real diamonds?
Yes. Every stone is a natural mined diamond, 0.77 carat in total weight across the pear-cut diamonds and the small round brilliants, E-F colour with VS2 to SI clarity, and the necklace ships with an IGI (International Gemological Institute) certificate. Natural, not lab-grown, and the certificate says so in writing.

How big is the pendant?
About 3 centimetres from the top of the lotus to the tip of the lowest pear, and about 1 centimetre across at its widest. Long enough to move when you do, slim enough to wear before dinner as well as at it. Each piece is made by hand, so measurements can vary very slightly.

Is it 14K solid gold all the way through?
Yes — solid 14K gold, no plating, nothing underneath, nothing to wear off. 14K means 58.5% pure gold alloyed for strength, which is the standard for fine jewelry you wear daily. It is naturally hypoallergenic, it will not tarnish, and it is the kind of piece you can hand down without a second thought. The only thing it ever needs is the occasional polish.

How is the design put together?
In two parts. At the top, a small lotus of round diamonds with petals sweeping up and out. Hanging from it on a tiny jump ring, a chandelier drop: one pear diamond pointing up, a triangle of round diamonds in pointed white-gold frames, and three pear diamonds fanned across the bottom. Four pear-cut diamonds and about twenty round brilliants in all, each in its own claws.

Does the drop swing?
A little, and that is the point. The drop hangs from the lotus on a small jump ring, so it moves slightly as you turn and catches the light from more than one angle. At rest it hangs straight down and faces forward.

Can I shower or sleep in a solid gold necklace?
A quick shower will not hurt solid 14K gold: it does not tarnish, has no plating to wear through and does not react to water. We still suggest taking a fine chain off to sleep, because a chain can kink or knot against a pillow over time. Soap film, lotion and hairspray dull any gold, so soak it now and then in warm water with a drop of mild soap, rinse, and dry it with a soft cloth to keep the diamonds bright.

Can I wear it every day?
You can. Solid 14K white gold does not tarnish, and every diamond is held in claws rather than glued. It is a dressier drop than a simple solitaire, so take it off for the gym, the pool and sleep, and lift it clear of chunky knitwear, which a long drop can snag on.

Which chain length should I choose?
On 18 inches the pendant rests on the upper breastbone, as in our photographs, and sits well over a high neckline. 16 inches brings it up to just below the collarbones; 20 inches lets it fall lower over a crew neck. 14 inches sits close to the base of the throat, which is short for a 3 centimetre drop. Between two lengths, go longer.

How long does this necklace take to arrive?
It is handcrafted to order, so please allow up to 15 business days for it to be made before it ships. Once it ships, free standard USPS shipping takes 2 to 4 business days in the US, and you get a tracking number by email the moment it is on its way. Made-to-order pieces cannot be changed after checkout, so take one more look at your choices before you pay. It arrives in our signature gift box with a suede pouch. We ship worldwide; international delivery runs 5 to 14 business days depending on the destination, and any customs duties are the buyer's.

What length necklace should I get?
If you are unsure, choose 18 inches — it sits just below the collarbone and works on almost everyone and with almost every neckline. 16 inches sits at the collarbone (the most popular length for dainty pendants and for layering as the top chain). 14 inches is a choker fit. 20 inches drops a few inches lower and is the right choice over a crew neck or as the bottom layer in a stack. This piece comes in 14, 16, 18 and 20 inches. If you are between lengths, go longer — a chain can always sit a little lower, and if a chain you already own comes up short, our 1, 2 and 3 inch extenders fix that in one clip.
