Every diamond in our fine jewelry is natural. Each one was formed deep within the earth, most more than a billion years ago, long before it was cut, polished and set in gold.

Many pieces that look like ours are made with lab-grown diamonds. Ours are not. Every piece in our fine jewelry collection is graded by the International Gemological Institute (IGI) and ships with its own certificate, so you never have to take our word for it.

Because each piece is crafted by master goldsmiths in Istanbul and comes directly to you, with no distributors or retail markups in between, we can offer natural diamonds at prices you would expect to pay for lab-grown.

Is this a real diamond?
Yes. It is one natural mined diamond, 0.24 carat, E–F colour and VVS clarity, and the necklace ships with an IGI (International Gemological Institute) certificate. Natural, not lab-grown, and the paperwork says so in writing.

What is an Asscher cut?
A square step cut with its corners trimmed. Instead of the tiny sparkling triangles of a round brilliant, it has long flat facets that step down in concentric squares, so it flashes in clean planes of light, like looking into a hall of mirrors. Step cuts show the inside of the stone more openly than brilliants, which is why a high clarity grade such as VVS suits it so well.

Is it 14K solid gold all the way through?
Yes — solid 14K gold, no plating, nothing underneath, nothing to wear off. 14K means 58.5% pure gold alloyed for strength, which is the standard for fine jewelry you wear daily. It is naturally hypoallergenic, it will not tarnish, and it is the kind of piece you can hand down without a second thought. The only thing it ever needs is the occasional polish.

How big is it in real life?
Small and precise. A 0.24 carat Asscher diamond is typically about 3.5 millimetres square, roughly the size of a peppercorn, and the whole pendant with its bail is just under a centimetre tall. It reads as one clear point of light rather than a statement. Each piece is made by hand, so carat and weight can vary slightly.

How is the diamond set, and will it hang straight?
The diamond sits in a four-claw basket of polished 14K white gold, one short round-tipped claw at each corner, so the stone stays open to the light. A small jump ring on top of the setting carries a tapered bail, and the fine cable chain runs through it, so the square hangs level and faces forward. On a fine chain any pendant can turn now and then; it settles back with a touch.

Can I shower or sleep in a solid gold necklace?
A quick shower will not hurt solid 14K gold: it does not tarnish, has no plating to wear through and does not react to water. We still suggest taking a fine chain off to sleep, because a chain can kink or knot against a pillow over time. Soap film, lotion and hairspray dull any gold, so soak it now and then in warm water with a drop of mild soap, rinse, and dry it with a soft cloth to keep the diamonds bright.

Can I wear it every day?
Yes. Solid 14K white gold does not tarnish, and the diamond is held in claws, not glued. Take it off for the gym, the pool and lotions, and check the claws and the clasp now and then, as you would with any fine piece.

Which chain length should I choose?
On 18 inches the diamond rests on the upper chest, close to how it is worn on our photographs; 20 inches drops a little lower and sits well over a high neckline; 16 inches lands just below the collarbones; 14 inches sits close to the base of the throat. Between two lengths, go longer.

How long does this necklace take to arrive?

Once it ships, free standard USPS shipping takes 2 to 4 business days in the US, and you get a tracking number by email the moment it is on its way. What length necklace should I get?
If you are unsure, choose 18 inches — it sits just below the collarbone and works on almost everyone and with almost every neckline. 16 inches sits at the collarbone (the most popular length for dainty pendants and for layering as the top chain). 14 inches is a choker fit. 20 inches drops a few inches lower and is the right choice over a crew neck or as the bottom layer in a stack. This piece comes in 14, 16, 18 and 20 inches. If you are between lengths, go longer — a chain can always sit a little lower, and if a chain you already own comes up short, our 1, 2 and 3 inch extenders fix that in one clip.
